Hackquarters’ recent Disrupting Insurance Startup Challenge powered in BNP Paribas Cardif is an innovation program in lnsurTech aiming to make an impact in the insurance sector by providing access to domain expertise and market credibility. 10 startups were selected among 60+ applications; the most innovative solutions in the sector and entrepreneurs to think far beyond the technology of tomorrow. Challenge has started on 18 December 2019 with the business workshop by Goh Hirose, Acceleration Leader & Startup Investment/Relations Manager at Cardif Lab Paris. Goh spent half of the day with selected startups for the detailed feedback on the business models, pitches and possible opportunities with BNP Paribas Cardif in the future.
The Challenge took place on 19 December 2019 in Kolektif House Levent. Bringing together key players from the insurance sector and the entrepreneurial ecosystem, B2Metric became the first at the end of the event. The event started with the speech of Kaan Akın, founder of Hackquarters, sharing the program and the general flow. Then Cemal Kişmir, CEO of BNP Paribas Cardif Turkey, took the stage and talked about the future of the insurance sector and the global vision of BNP Paribas Cardif.

The winners of the Startup Challenge are; 1st winner- B2Metrics; 2nd winner- Uservision; 3rd winner Musebirds. Pabbler was selected as a Jury’s special. Besides the winner, BNP Paribas Cardif leadership defined 2 more startups to work closely for the business operations and start test projects with.
Following the Challenge, on 20 December the winners met with Goh Hirose for the investment sessions; and Tugba Camli Canturk, Head of Communication and Innovation at BNP Paribas Cardif Turkey, to discuss the next steps for the pilot projects with the insurance company.
